Halloween @ Disneyland: the good, the interesting and the spooky

A few weekends ago, I was able to visit Disneyland in Paris for Halloween, and it was so much fun! I went with some friends, we were able to get a discount on tickets and it was a great time.

The good:

First, as someone who lives in the Paris suburbs, I found the transportation very easy! All you have to do is find a connecting train station that has an RER to Marne-la-Vallée Chessy, and you just take the train all way to the Disneyland (about 38 minutes). The park is right outside of the train station so it's very practical and zero stress.

Second, I found the park very clean, welcoming and full of a lot of joy. I really enjoyed this because it reminded me of home (the US), and I really loved the creativity of the parades. There were hundreds of people there so I guess they enjoyed it too! The park was full of exciting and fun themes as well, so I liked the variety of the rides.

The interesting:

For me, I think that one of the more interesting things was the food aspect. Disneyland Paris has various restaurants and food places, but there are really only two varieties: restaurant like food (prices starting from 25/30 euros and up) or fast food, with prices starting at 12/15 euros. I honestly did not enjoy the food aspect, the fast food kind of grossed me out and the other options were excessively expensive. This was one of the down points for me but I did not find many negative aspects!

The spooky:

I loved the Halloween aspect here! The decorations (as seen in some of the pictures) were really fun and family oriented - lots of pumpkins, orange lights and scarecrows. The ambiance was very different by day versus night and I really enjoyed that the park stayed open until 10:15pm. I know that this can seem late for some people but Paris life really starts towards 8:30 or even after 9am, so ten pm isn't that late for some people. I thought that the decorations and rides in the park were more Halloween oriented, which was fantastic, but there was also other types of rides for different Disney themes.

Some tips:

I would recommend downloading the Disneyland Paris application, my French friends were constantly checking this app because it shows waiting times in real-time for all the rides in the park where we were. It's true that we went on a Saturday, so naturally there were more people, but I still think that we were able to plan our day on the go because we adjusted based on the waiting times for certain rides.

We were able to do the Haunted Mansion, the small world boat ride, Alice in Wonderland maze, the Indiana Jones ride, another wild west ride, visit the Cinderella castle (don't forget to check out the dragon below the castle) and watch both parades -- one at 11:50am and another at 9:40pm.

Here's two other pictures of the Sleeping Beauty castle at night :

The night show:

I would really recommend this! It was cool to visit Disneyland in Paris and very fabulous atmosphere.

Happy Halloween everyone!
