I didn't know this, but there were A LOT of things to when I arrived in the city. Not only administratively, but school-wise too. And quite a few changes with the system. Since I had been accepted to an English school based in partnership with the Institute in Paris, the courses and even names were quite different (in terms of how they spoke about grading, class types,

etc). Luckily, some of the assistants at the school were a huge help and guided us through setting up some important profiles in France -- like validating our VLS-TS, setting up a temporary social security number (sécurité sociale in French - national health insurance). I also found that my classes would take place on Fridays, so we had all week to study, read our articles, and prepare for discussions. It was interesting! We had a lot of free time. I wish that I had done an internship, or been encouraged to do an internship, because it would have helped with my profile eventually for job-seeking. However, I really liked my classes and found the subjects super interesting. We would be assigned articles by our professors every week, and we were also assigned a few essays to write for each semester. The school year ended in the spring and we had a thesis to write individually, which was due in September/October.
